  17. Why worry about this Erik - the slashes in gopher are as hierarchical as 
  18. in any other protocol and DO refer to the location in the directory structure.

  20. OTOH - it is possible in the URL spec to define an opaque selector, and I
  21. believe that the gopher one is defined that way.
